Location: Habitat for Humanity’s Education Community Center, 815 Court Street, Charleston WV (on the corner of Court St. and Piedmont Rd. diagonally across from Greens Feed and Seed.)

Free parking: The Community Center has a private parking lot directly across from the Center’s entrance on Court Street (enter the lot from Piedmont Road). PLEASE Do Not Park on the Habitat lot or next to the building.

7:30am – Registration and light continental breakfast items

8:00am – Advocacy Boot Camp training session, with both basic and advanced insights, from national SHRM Governmental Affairs staff member.

9:30am – West Virginia State Capitol – meet with elected representatives

11:00am – attend floor session of WV Legislature

1:00pm – lunch (at Capitol cafeteria at diner’s expense)

2:00pm – attend Legislative Committee meetings or continue to meet with elected representative

3:00pm – Conclusion of activities

Traveling attendees responsible for overnight accommodations in Charleston area at own expense.

Advance Reservations are requested by February 5, 2016 in order to schedule meetings with members of the Legislature. Chapter members should make reservation with their local Chapter (reservation list to be submitted to Jim Wells by February 5, 2016). Don’t forget to wear comfortable shoes (marble floors throughout the State Capitol), and bring your business cards.
